(See the website: www.markasmus.com) Asmus' paintings reflect the two dominant cultures of Taos in their present day-to-day activities. Powwow scenes, the Taos Pueblo's sacred dances and Pueblo activities, historic and religious structures, and everyday life in Taos are just some of Asmus' subject matter. Asmus executes his paintings with a palette knife on birch panel, imparting a highly textured surface with depth, looseness and hard edges. Prices of framed paintings range from $200 - $2800.
