| Description | The Museum presents photographs and artifacts depicting regional Florida history in its permanent exhibit, History Shaped by Nature. Shipwrecks, early pioneer life along the river, Seminole Wars, and inhabitants of the region such as Trapper Nelson are featured. The collection includes rare Native American artifacts, a 1659 iron cannon, US Lifesaving Station equipment, and the postal sorter used by the Barefoot Mailman. Rotating exhibits are also featured August through June. The 1892 George Washington Tindall House and a replicated Seminole Village are located on the site surrounded by native foliage. The Museum offers an ongoing lecture series and a Summer History Camp for children 8-13 years old. |
