Brief DescriptionHarding Home & Museum in Marion, OH
DescriptionHome of the 29th President of the United States, Warren G. Harding, and his wife, Florence. This was the site of the famous campaign speeches that launched his quest for the presidency in 1920. Stand on the front porch while you imagine the crowd of thousands that gathered to hear Harding's inspirational speeches. The Harding's lived here until they moved to Washington D.C. before his inauguration. Original furnishings adorn the home, such as the desk where Harding heard the news of his election, a finely decorated dining room where the Harding's celebrated with friends, and the ""haunted"" clock that eerily stopped when Harding passed away. Behind the home sits the authentic Sears Roebuck Press Headquarters Building that was used by the press during the campaign and now houses a gift shop and more Harding memorabilia. The Harding Home & Museum is under renovation until 2020, but will reopen with a Presidential museum beside it.
