DescriptionLast major campaign of the American Revolution in North Carolina fought between the armies of General Cornwallis and General Nathaneal Greene. The British won the field, but lost many more men, which resulted in a strategic victory for American forces. The significance of this battle was the prelude to the Battle of Yorktown, and the ultimate win for American Independence. The Guilford Courthouse National Military Park is the site of the March 15,1781 Battle of Guilford Courthouse. Visitors can view informational outdoor exhibits and monuments. Indoor activities include a 30-minute live-action film (shown on the hour); an animated battle map program, and Revolutionary War museum exhibits. Reservations required for large groups.
