Description	Two of the Earthwork locations you could take a walking tour of in Ross County are Seip Mound, which is located on Route 50 West just before reaching Bainbridge, Ohio. Seip mound is one of the few remnants left of what was once a major Hopewell earthwork complex. When originally constructed, the complex covered 121 acres. While much of the original structure has been lost, Seip Mound still stands. This burial mound is a testament to the architecture and ceremony of the Hopewell culture. Standing 30 feet tall, 240 feet long and 160 feet wide, Seip is one of the largest mounds ever built by the Hopewell culture. We recommend that your first stop in the Chillicothe area be at Mound City located at 16062 State Route 104. Mound City contains one of the largest concentrations of Hopewell burial mounds ever discovered. Mound City encompasses roughly 15 acres and is surrounded by over 2,000 feet of earthwork walls.
