ArcATTACK!, founded in 2005, is a multimedia performance art troupe that created the original singing Tesla Coils and were among the 2010 Top Ten finalists on TV’s America’s Got Talent. While seeking new possibilities between the union of scientific and musical concepts, members of the group discovered that beyond entertaining audiences there was a natural tendency to stimulate curiosity about science and technology. This presentation explores scientific facts and theories though audience participation and focuses on the key historical figures that have changed the way science and music are understood. ArcATTACK! helps young people discover the way these two disciplines intersect by using high-tech wizardry to generate a truly “electrifying” performance. The Study Guide provided by The Ritz will offer experiments to illustrate principles tied to the technology featured on the stage.
