DescriptionSince 1893, the Denver Art Museum (DAM) has stood as a beacon for art and culture in the Rocky Mountain West. With over 70,000 works of art in the permanent collection, the museum provides invaluable ways to learn about cultures from around the world. In addition, nationally recognized as a family-friendly place, the DAM offers a variety of innovative and interactive programs. The Just For Fun Family Center, Kids Corner, gallery games and hands-on studios for kids and adults alike are available daily. On weekends and school breaks, family backpacks and Create-n-Takes are also on hand. Daily collection highlight tours as well as tours of many of the special exhibitions are also offered.
A number of exciting special exhibitions are coming up or on view--Star Wars and the Power of Costume (special dated/timed ticket required); Glory of Venice: Masterworks of the Renaissance; Shock Wave: Japanese Fashion Design, 1980s-90s; Mi Tierra: Contemporary Artists Explore Place; Shade: Clyfford Still/Mark Bradford; and The Western: An Epic in Art and Film.
