| Description | Deerfield Ranch Winery is located in the heart of Sonoma Valley in the small town of Kenwood. It is just an hours drive from the Golden Gate Bridge and the City of San Francisco. Sonoma is a must visit if you love wine, great food, beautiful scenery and a laid back county feeling. Sonoma feels like farming country, not a Disneyland of wine. Real people, great wine, great food.
What sets Deerfield apart is their Clean Wine® methods. Deerfield makes more than two dozen wines and each is very low in sulfites and histamines so they don't cause headaches or allergic reactions. Robert Rex, the winemaker, specializes in blends and has done so for 45 years. Deerfield red wines are aged longer in the barrel than most wines so they are smooth and well balanced.
The tasting experience is fun. Deerfield's tasting room is in the center of a 23,000 square foot cave where the wine is aged in barrels. The room is set up like a club room so you are served at a table or couch rather than stand at a bar. We hear often that a guest's visit and tasting at Deerfield is the highlight of the trip.
