| Description | This enchanting cavern has been delighting visitors since its discovery during the Gold Rush. Today, newly discovered pristine areas like the Jungle Room on the 60-80 minute Trail of Lights family walking tour display beautiful white stalactites liberally adorning the ceiling. Make a reaservation for the fun & adventurous 3-hour Mammoth Cave Expedition ($119 per person, ages 8 and up) which involves crawling, climbing and sliding through twisting marble passageways. For even more of a challenge, reserve the 4 hour Middle Earth Expedition ($135 per person ages 16 and up) which includes the popular rafting trip across Tom's Lake deep in the unlit areas of the cave. Underground ravines hold pockets of sparkling helictites, stalactites and rare, beautiful crystal flowers on the ceiling illuminated only by cave helmet lights on this adventurous expedition. We provide all the equipment, no experience necessary. Above ground enjoy our picnic tables, nature trail, gift shop and gemstone mining activity. |
