Type Event Category Children Events Description The Azalea Festival Children's tea is a 20-year tradition of 2 to 12-year-olds and their mothers, grandmothers and fathers, to share in a wonderful afternoon of tea, activities and fun. This year's theme is the Teddy Bear Tea Party and the special guests will include those teddy bears that the girls bring, along with the Azalea Festival Princess and her court, last year's Queen Azalea, Victoria Huggins, musical guest, Andy Creech, Cape Fear Garden Club's Ambassadors and other surprise guests that are sure to please one and all. It is a lovely venue and we're excited to share it with the community again. This year we will also have a brand new vendor, Sleepy Teepees, and we can't wait to share what they're going to have for the children to do and see! Each year the children receive a specialty cup and get the chance to decorate cupcakes as well as enjoy our candy bar! This event is brought to you by The Cape Fear Volunteer Center. We work to match agencies and individuals with service opportunities in southeastern North Carolina. One of our in-house programs is the Big Buddy program which is one-on-one mentoring for at-risk youth. The agency runs on very little money and this is the only annual fundraiser that is held to keep things going. We haven't been able to have a Tea since 2018, so we're very excited to be able to be back this year.
