| Description | Corn has long been an integral part of the annual cycle of life for many Native American People and when the first tender ears are ripe for picking it is cause for celebration. Join IAIS staff and friends at the Seventh Annual Green Corn Festival as we welcome the first corn of the season with music, food, family & fun.
This year we are honored to welcome the award winning Yellowhouse Dancers! From the Southwestern Navajo Nation, these talented performers keep their tradition and culture alive through music and dance. Also joining us again this year are the Sint-Sink Singers; musician Allan Madahabee, Ojibwa descent; Storyteller Janis Us, Mohawk-Shinnecock descent and Dale Carson, Abenaki.
Come and enjoy fun-filled activities for the whole family including drumming, dancing, face painting, kids’ crafts, storytelling, powwow style food, arts and crafts for sale and much more.
