Boehm's Candies
Chocolate factory and retail shop just east of Seattle!

Category:     Issaquah Tour near Seattle, Washington

Description of this Seattle area Attraction: Julius Boehm (1897-1981), our founder, was of Swiss-Austrian descent. He spent his first 40 years in Austria where he developed a love of art, classical music and sports. After immigrating to the United States in 1940, he and partner George Tedlock opened the first Candy Kitchen in the north end of Seattle. A mutual friend, Candymaker Cecil Hall, helped perfect the American line of chocolates. In 1956 the company moved to Issaquah where he built the Edelweiss Chalet and a beautiful Alpine Chapel in the shadow of the Issaquah Alps. The Luis Trenker Kirch'l is a replica of a 12th century chapel near St. Moritz, Switzerland. The high standards Mr. Boehm set for candymaking are still painstakingly upheld. We're proud of our consistent quality and we're often told there is none better. From the most exquisite, rich European-style, hand-dipped chocolates to crunchy, classic American peanut brittle, perfection is found in every bite that bears the Boehms name. Over 200,000 travelers from near and far are lured annually to our chalet east of Seattle. You are welcome to visit the chalet and see our candy kitchen, the old world charm of the quarters upstairs, and stroll our grounds to the lovely Chapel nearby. Escorted tours are available by appointment.
