Crabtree Falls
For a spectacular view, hike to the top of the highest waterfall east of the Mississippi River and enjoy the sights and sounds of cascading water.
Oak Ridge Estate
This 5,000-acre plantation and the 1802 mansion is the site of many festivals and special events. Features include horse racing track, hunting preserve and railroad station.
State Fish Hatchery
You can see young trout fish at various stages of maturity in cascading pools before they are released to stock Virginia’s rivers.
Walton’s Mountain Museum
The school building Earl Hamner, Jr. attended now houses replicas of the sets from The Waltons, the memorable television series he created.
