About Undercurrent:
Heather Giffith and Melanie Ganz met five years ago when they both attended a music showcase in Pungo. They found a mutual connection musically and began playing together working on various projects until they partnered to create “Undercurrent.”
Undercurrent's guitarist, Heather Griffith, has been playing music since she was ten ranging from saxophones to drums; eventually finding her niche with guitar. Heather wrote the band's most successful original, "For A Minute" when she was only 14. She has played with many different bands in the Virginia area with an eclectic mix ranging from country to punk.
Melanie Ganz's musical career has spanned many years. She began in a Southern Rock band, but is influenced by every genre of music ranging from hard rock to soul. Melanie defines her musical style as "very personal". She "needs to feel the music and to relate to the music on a personal level. There is a story to be told through song selections and [she] brings the audience with [her]".
