Description of this Manassas Attraction: Manassas National Battlefield park was established in 1940 to preserve the scene of two major Civil War battles. Located a few miles north of the prized railroad junction of Manassas, Virginia, the peaceful Virginia countryside bore witness to clashes between the armies of the North and South in 1861 and 1862.

Today the battlefield park provides the opportunity for visitors to explore the historic terrain where men fought and died for their beliefs a century ago.

Description of this Manassas area Attraction: The National Firearms Museum presents one of the largest firearms collections east of the Mississippi, showcasing arms associated with American presidents, foreign heads of state and historical figures. Guns of Annie Oakley, Theodore Roosevelt and other famous Americans abound. Over 2,000 firearms are presented in a historical continuum spanning six hundred years of firearms technology. The museum contains a comprehensive gift shop with a variety of items, including replica firearms, collector references and NRA fraternal materials. Admission free - donations appreciated.

Description of this Manassas area Attraction: Sully is the 1794 home of Richard Bland Lee, Northern Virginia's first congressman and uncle to Robert E. Lee. The grounds of Sully include the original 1794 house, fully furnished with period artifacts, the original kitchen/laundry, smokehouse, and dairy, and a representative slave quarter. Guided tours are given daily, except Tuesdays, from 11am-4pm, with tours beginning on the hour. Sully also holds many special events throughout the year, such as a Civil War Weekend, War of 1812 Muster, Antique Car Show, Candlelight Tours, and more.
