Just a short drive from Chicago, Kankakee County is about 50 miles south of the city. It is easily accessible from Interstate 57, Route 17, and Routes 45/52. The River Valley Metro Bus services the area and links to the University Park electric line of Chicago's Metra Train. The area is also serviced by Amtrak's Chicago-Carbondale line.
