B & O passenger train depot. Featuring 'made from scratch' entrees such as chicken pot pie and macaroni and cheese, desserts such as crème puffs and elderberry pie, assorted soups, breads and muffins, all served in a relaxed atmosphere by an attentive staff. The restaurant is available for small parties on site, and offers catering services at your site or one of the Depot’s many halls. Offering many family friendly and children’s entrees along with “upside down” entertainment; featuring (on a rotating basis) Christmas, all 4 seasons, and historic events. Only 25 minutes from downtown Rochester, the Depot is only a short drive down I - 490. We are AAA Approved and handicapped accessible. Beer, wine, and senior portions available. Continuing German-American culture and tradition since 1895!

Description of this New York Restaurant: The German-American Club of Albany, at 32 Cherry Street, is centrally located between Albany and Schenectady conveniently off Fuller Road. The club is easy to get to from Western, Washington, and Central Avenues, and just minutes from the Northway (I-87) Exit 2E and from the Thruway (I90) Exit 2. Founded in 1895, we are one of the oldest social organizations in the Capital District. We are open to the public and welcome all, no matter their ethnic or religious background. German heritage and club membership is not necessary to enjoy yourself here. If you are interested in meeting and making new friends, stop in and see us, especially if you enjoy German-American tradition and culture.
On our grounds is the last remaining original German Biergarten still in existence in the Capital District- the Schuetzenpark Biergarten! The Biergarten is open during the Summer months on select Friday nights. Please see our calendar and mark yours when we are open. Fine German food and drink is available along with domestic.
Every month we host an event, usually a dinner-dance; featuring live German and Polka music. In the cooler months, events take place in our spacious banquet hall, and during the Summer we host three picnics in our beautiful pine tree shaded park- Schuetzenpark. At these Summerfests families and children can take pleasure in a wholesome atmosphere while enjoying fine German food, drink, music, and dance.
