Category: Hanover Theater event in New Hampshire
Description of this Hanover Event: "One of the best Christmastime entertainments!" CBS news
Don your tartans and travel back in time and over the sea to the cool glens and craggy peaks, heather and hills of Scotland to celebrate this year's winter solstice. An unexpected visitor arrives to enliven the holiday celebrations, but is more welcome to some than others!
Our exceptional 80-person cast vocal soloist Lindsey Warren, internationally known tradition bearers Laura Risk and Lissa Schneckenburger on fiddles, Natalie Haas on cello, and Gordon and Lezlie Webster (and son Campbell) on highland pipes, as well as local favorites: harpist Patricia Stebbins, accordionist Jeremiah McLane, award-winning highland dancers Camille Ames, Jillian Peters, and Marielle Webster, Maple Leaf and Green Mountain Morris teams, and the Heritage Brass Quintet. We'll have you singing and dancing in the aisles, as we celebrate both high art and low, including a slapstick "Guisers" play, exquisite music from the 18th and 19th centuries, fairy tales, legends, and the poetry of Robert Burns. Join the fun-for-all-ages Scottish holiday celebration with The Christmas Revels—an Upper Valley tradition!
