Four Mile Historic Park
Home of Denver's oldest standing structure

Category:     Denver Historic Site in Colorado

Description of this Denver Attraction: Four Mile Historic Park is a 12 acre rustic park in the heart of the city. It is home to Denver's oldest standing structure, the Four Mile House. Built in 1859, the house served as a stagecoach stop along the Cherokee/Smoky hill trail for many years, and then became the center of a large farm. The Park is dedicated to historic preservation and the education of the public regarding the history of Denver and the pioneer west. The Park hosts field trips, children's birthday parties, and a number of special events throughout the year. Entrance to the Park is free. There is a small charge for house tours and wagon rides around the Park on weekends.
