Angel Lightfeather's Sacred Soul Journey Vortex Tour Sacred Soul Journey Vortex Tour- a spiritual experience
Category: Sedona Attraction Packages in Arizona User Rating:
Description of this Sedona Attraction: Angel Lightfeather Answers Questions About the Sedona Vortex in Sedona Arizona
Article by Angel Lightfeather
Sedona, AZ: Sedona is one of the spiritual power spots on earth. The land in Sedona is the very sacred land of the ancient Indians called Anasazi. This sacred land in Sedona is full of ancient stories and legends. The Anasazi were also known as the "The Ancient Ones." I believe the "Ancient Ones" are the original people and original Indian culture from which all other Indian Nations in the United States and up through Canada are a part.
The concept that we are all "One People" would then link all Tribal Nations as "One People" in the beginning. Folk stories speak of Sedona as being very sacred land where the "Ancient Ones” came to do sacred ceremonies, prayer, and healing but felt that this sacred Sedona land was too powerful and too sacred to live on.
The Anasazi were also known in New Mexico as the "Willow People,” and Mimbres Indians. Ancient history can be found in ancient artifacts, often perfectly preserved through time in the incredible dry climate of Arizona and New Mexico. The land here in Sedona is sacred land used for sacred ceremony and spiritual growth today.
When people visit Sedona they are struck with this incredibly overwhelming beauty of the landscape. The most common question is "Where are the vortexes?"
The answer to this question is that all of Sedona is a vortex. You have to drive about 300 miles in any direction to totally get out of the vortex energy. Just imagine that the further away from Sedona you travel the less intense the energy. Some people are very sensitive to the energy here. The twisted bark of the juniper trees is amazing in the area of the vortexes. So, whenever you see twisted juniper trees that is physical evidence of vortex energy affecting nature.
The vortex is all over Sedona, but here are a few vortex locations to visit in Sedona:
The Bell Rock Vortex is one of the most visible vortex sites (it looks like a great big bell) off Hwy 179, on your right as you enter Sedona from the Village of Oak Creek. Many people visit this vortex site and experience very spiritual experiences. It is easy to find, easy to park, and very beautiful to visit.
Chapel of the Holy Cross Vortex is truly one of the very spiritual and divine vortexes in all of Sedona. The Chapel is one of inspiration and joy. If you look closely you may see an image in the rocks that looks like The Madonna and Child. You can see great views of the red rock cliffs and shoot beautiful photos of Sedona visions from this beautiful vista. Have a wonderful spiritual experience here. It's easy to find The Chapel of The Holy Cross Vortex. As you leave Sedona heading toward The Village of Oak Creek on Highway 179, you will see a small sign that says Chapel Road. Turn left and follow the road directly up to the parking lot of the Chapel where you will find plenty of parking. It also has a great gift shop.
The Boynton Canyon Vortex is another amazing experience. I would allow at least an entire day to discover the many wonderful trails. From Sedona, heading toward Cottonwood on Highway 89A, turn right on Dry Creek Road. Follow Dry Creek Road until you see signs directing you to Boynton Canyon. Don't forget the camera! If you call in advance you could have a wonderful lunch at The Enchantment Resort. Be

Hubbell Trading Post National Historic Site National Park
Category: Ganado National Park in Arizona
Description of this Arizona Attraction: Feel the old wooden floor give slightly beneath your footsteps and hear it sqeak as you enter the front door of the oldest continuously operating trading post on the Navajo Nation. Let your eyes adjust to the dim lighting of the "bullpen" and you might even catch the trader negotiating a deal with a Native American artist. Hubbell Trading Post National Historic Site offers you a chance to become a part of this unique slice of history.
John Lorenzo Hubbell purchased the trading post in 1878, ten years after Navajos were allowed to return to their homeland from their terrible exile at Bosque Redondo, Ft. Sumner, NM. During the four years spent at Bosque Redondo, Navajos were introduced to many new items. Traders like Hubbell supplied those items once they returned home.
Hubbell family members operated this trading post until it was sold to the National Park Service in 1967. The trading post is still active, and operated by the non-profit organization, Western National Parks Association, that maintains the trading traditions the Hubbell family established.
Step back in time and experience this original 160 acre homestead, including the trading post, family home and visitor center with weaving demonstrations.
