| ** | Two of us took a new employee out to lunch at Grasshopper today 8/28/06. I was excited since I'd never been to this particular restaurant. The food was ok, but the customer service skills from our waiter could have used LOTS of improvement. He came over and poured our water, & asked if we wanted anything else to drink. He came back a few minutes later, and asked if we were ready to order. It appeared that he was a bit agitated that we were not prepared to immediately present our orders. Our new employee noticed that he was looking out the window, as if he were bored, and tired of waiting on us to decide what we wanted to order. Upon arrival, we were greeted, but after we were seated, everything wen downhill fast. A kind welcome, and have you ever visited us before, would have been a nice starting conversation piece. Were there any specials of the day? Who knows, he never mentioned any, and we didn't dare ask. I asked him about a dish, and his reply was a quite to-the-point answer. It was obvious that he did not want to be bothered with the details of explaining the menu to customers, although, I thought that was a part of his JOB. We NEVER saw this guy smile. | ** | It has a nice outdoor area and decor, but in general the food isn't great and doesn't really follow any particular cuisine in cooking style. They use way too much dried spices and flavored oils so it tastes like eating your spice rack for dinner. The air indoors was so saturated with chili pepper that it hurt our eyes and throats. For tea, drinks, and appetizers, it could be fun on a nice night outside. | Female under 25 | 09-19-06 |
| * | I went to this restaurant this noon, the food was so so, the thing that bothers me was that as I happened to have a few dollars cash on me, I left the tip in cash on the table and paid the lunch with a credit card. Later today when I checked my bank account statement, I found that they automatically charged another 20% tip against my account without informing me or getting my permission. So overall I paid them 40% tips!!! They do not deserve 40% tip given the level of their customer service. I will not go there again. | Female between 26 and 55 | 02-21-07 |
