Best Time to Visit Allentown Pennsylvania
Known as Pennsylvania’s Park Place, Allentown is most proud of its award-winning park system. Average Allentown Weather
Allentown experiences all four seasons giving residents and visitors alike the opportunity to be in the outdoors year round with a different experience each time. During winter the city sees snow which settles beautifully on South Mountain making for a picturesque backdrop. Winter temperatures typically hover around the 20s and 30s but wind chills can make them dip to near zero. Spring brings a warm up and makes the city bloom with average temperatures in the 60s and 70s. Summers in Allentown bring out residents and visitors with hot and exciting days in the 80s and 90s and warm but comfortable evenings in the 70s. One of the most spectacular times to visit eastern Pennsylvania is in the fall when changing fall foliage makes the mountainside come alive in hues of red, orange and yellow. Transportation
Allentown is easily accessible by car via Interstates 78 and 476 and US Route 22, by bus and by planes flying into Lehigh Valley International Airport. It is located an hour north of Philadelphia and approximately two-hours west of New York City. Trans-Bridge and Bieber Tourways bus lines offer regular stops in the city. Navigation between Allentown and its neighboring cities of Bethlehem and Easton is available by car, public bus transportation or taxi.
