In-Season Costs

A typical family vacation to Cleveland Plus costs 40-60 percent less than one to cities like New York, Philadelphia or Los Angeles – without sacrificing any of the experience! The average cost for a moderate, three-star hotel room for two would be approximately $109. A moderate, three-course dinner for one, without alcohol or tip is typically around $23 ($7 for appetizer, $10 for entrée, $6 for dessert).

Average Cleveland Weather

Cleveland's weather follows midwest seasonal patterns and has the moderating influence of Lake Erie. Cleveland experiences four distinct seasons. Winter tends to be cold and snowy, followed by a half-spring before the warm summer months set in. Crisp, sunny fall days can be enjoyed from September through November.

Transportation

By Car:
  • Traveling to Cleveland Plus is easy. Road trippers will find Cleveland is ideally situated at the intersection of several Interstate highways (I-77, I-71 and I-90). Ohio Route 2 follows the Lake Erie shoreline through Cleveland, while I-80 (Ohio Turnpike) and I-480 run east/west through the city.
By Air:
  • Cleveland Hopkins International Airport (CLE) serves as a hub for United Airlines and offers 250 daily flight departures to 74 markets. CLE has more flights to more destinations than any airport in Ohio and also has convenient RTA rail service directly from the terminal to downtown. Other CLE airlines include Air Canada, American, Delta, Frontier, Southwest, US Airways and USA3000.
  • Akron-Canton Airport (CAK) offers the lowest average fare of any airport in Ohio, Indiana, Pennsylvania and Michigan with nearby parking, on-site car rental, and premium low-fare service aboard AirTran Airways.
  • Burke Lakefront Airport (BKL) is Cleveland Plus' corporate and general aviation airport. Located in the center of downtown Cleveland, BKL has unparalleled access to downtown business and attractions.
By Train or Bus:
  • Amtrak makes several daily stops downtown, and Greyhound Bus Lines offers scheduled service to its downtown station.
Getting around while in town on Public Transportation:
  • The Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority (RTA) provides public transportation in the City of Cleveland and 58 surrounding municipalities, and ranks among the nation's largest transportation systems. RTA's (http://www.riderta.com) public transportation system consists of both bus and rapid transit service with 768 buses running 102 routes, a convenient downtown loop bus system and four rapid transit lines (Red, Blue, Green and Waterfront) taking riders to virtually any destination throughout Cleveland Plus.

Travel south of Cleveland and take a ride on the Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad through the Cuyahoga Valley National Park. Head east along the lake to discover Ohio's wine country. Or, set sail to the west for the Lake Erie shores and islands. There are plenty of day trip adventures throughout Cleveland Plus.

Akron & Canton (Southeast) - Take a vintage ride aboard the Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad, see a masterpiece at the ultra-modern Akron Art Museum or visit the Pro Football Hall of Fame, where legends of the game and action of the American past-time come alive.

Amish Country (South) - Leave the hustle and bustle of everyday life behind when you venture into Ohio's Amish Country, one of the largest Amish settlements in the world, just one hour south of Cleveland in Holmes and adjacent counties.
