Cooper's Ark Farm New York State Agritourism Destination, Petting Farm
Category: Schoharie Tour near Albany, New York
Description of this Albany area Attraction: Cooper's Ark Farm offers a "hands on" or "hands off" educational and fun family farm tour on 15+ acres in the beautiful Schoharie Valley. We start with a haywagon ride out to the new barn. There you'll meet some of our friendly animals. We offer grain to hand feed the animals or whole dry corn-on-the-cob. We have several turn-of-the-century corn shellers to remove the kernels, and a late 1800's grinder to prepare the corn for feed. Our pony ride is like a mini trail ride through the woods. Special attention to the handicapped. We're open weekends from Memorial Day to July 1st., then 7 days per week till Labor Day, then weekends till Halloween. Off season by appointment only. We start at 9AM and the lasr tour is at 4:30 PM. We close at 6PM. Sorry, no pets or buses. We are the proud winners, thanks to the efforts of former State Senator Hoffman, of a New York State Agritourism Grant. Partial funding was used on a Handicap Accessible haywagon. We have enough room for approximately 6-8 wheelchairs, and several riders on each ride. Get on our mailing list by e-mailing ebcn@midtel.net . We're near Howe's Caverns, Iriquois Museum, The Carrot Barn, Stone Fort, Wellington's, Barber's Farm, The Apple Barrel, and on and on. Many places to see, sleep, eat, relax - call or e-mail any questions.
