Description of this New Jersey Visitor Information entry: New Jersey has many high profile destinations along it's Eastern shore. Often overlooked, is it's other shore along the Delaware River bordering Pennsylvania. It is the area called the Delaware Valley. Frenchtown NJ, is experiencing a renaissance as a travel destination for relaxing and active getaway vacations for harried NYC and Philly residents. Our town is located in Hunterdon County, New Jersey, just across the river from the much more famous Bucks County Pennsylvania. The tiny borough of 1,500 people is undergoing a whole series of architectural renovations that are preserving the town's rich history, and providing new space for art galleries, home decor stores and unique gift shops to open. The Frenchtown Wine and Art Festival is held on Columbus Day Weekend and highlights the cultural aspects of this tiny little spot on the globe that make it so unique as a travel destination.
