Lincoln-Woodstock New Hampshire Tourism At a Glance Best Time to Visit Lincoln-Woodstock New Hampshire People have historically thought of the White Mountain region of NH as a winter destination for skiing or a brief getaway from the dog days of summer, but the Lincoln/Woodstock area has transformed itself into a true 4 season resort destination that offers some of the best hiking, biking, climbing and scenic drives in the northeast (especially during the amazing fall foliage season).
While the sheer beauty and abundance of outdoor recreational opportunities have attracted tourists to the area for decades during the busy summer & winter months, it is becoming a popular getaway for couples and families to relax and de-stress in the slower times in between the peak seasons. With the spring wildflowers before Memorial Day and crisp, cool air of late autumn, come significant savings in room rates, and for those in the know, represents the perfect time and place to unwind and enjoy the spectacular scenery that fortunately, doesn't disappear with the crowds. Average Lincoln-Woodstock Weather Like the rest of New England, there is a very prominent change of seasons in the White Mountains. From warm summer months, averaging in the 70-80's to significant snowfall that can top 20 feet in a single season (although the average is about half that). Spring and summer average about 10 degrees cooler than Boston & southern New England and generally the mountains deflect & dissipate any serious thunderstorms making for very comfortable conditions from Memorial Day through Labor Day. Fall can run the gamut, from snow in late September to warm "Indian Summer" days lasting well into October. It's best to prepare for anything when visiting this region and bring warm clothes along in all but the peak summer months, just in case. Transportation Perhaps the most easily accessible mountain resort destination town in New England. The towns of Lincoln and Woodstock straddle Interstate 93. It's a straight 2 hour ride from Boston...no turns until you get into town.
Lincoln-Woodstock offers everything from luxurious resorts to quaint bed and breakfast inns. Depending on your taste and budget, visitors may find themselves steps away from our sandy beaches or in cozy retreats nestled in the mountainous backcountry.
Lincoln-Woodstock have restaurants in all price ranges. Expect to pay at least $20 per person for dinner with wine in a moderately priced restaurant. All the major restaurant chains have area outlets. New Hampshire Tourism - Lincoln-Woodstock Attractions, Activities and Day Trips For a small town, Lincoln/Woodstock has a broad range of fun activities for the whole family, from craft fairs & water parks to horseback riding and zipline tours (Lincoln/woodstock is home to the first & largest Zipline Canopy Tour in New England).
