Description of this North Dakota Visitor Information entry: Breckenridge, Minnesota, on the beautiful prairie of the Red River Valley of the North, is a unique small city of 3,559 people. It's located on the Headwaters of the Red River of the North. We welcome visitors to the area and invite you to explore our community! Many people come to the area just for the pure relaxation of our small town atmosphere. The city also has a wide array of parks and the Red River creates opportunities for fishing, boating, canoeing, bird watching and camping. Attractions include the Wilkin County Historical Museum, the Headwaters Monument, the Indian Chainsaw Statue in Welles Memorial Park, the Streetcar Memorial, the Great Northern Railroad Park & Caboose, and much more. We have a new Family Aquatic Center which includes a tower water slide, zero level entry making it handicapped accessible, tot sand lot & more.
