Transportation
Hattiesburg's location provides easy highway access to Jackson, Natchez, Mobile, and New Orleans; all of these cities have frequent flights from multiple destinations. Hattiesburg-Laurel Regional Airport has three direct flights to Memphis via Northwest Airlink daily. Amtrak and Greyhound both serve Hattiesburg. While there is city bus service, visitors will enjoy their stay more if they have a car.

In-Season Costs
Many of the areas historic homes (open to the public) do not charge admission. And, one of the best bits of Hattiesburg is simply wandering around the historic neighborhood district and having a look at the outside of houses that you cant go inside. Landrums Country Homestead and Village in nearby Laurel, Mississippi, is famed as a walking tour of the past. Ten miles past the Park youll find De Soto National Forest offering more than 500,000 acres for fishing, hunting, camping, picnicking and horseback riding.
