Families will enjoy the fun and learning experienced when they visit the Science Museum of Minnesota, a state-of-the-art facility cascading down the bluffs above the Mississippi River. The Minnesota Children's Museum features hands on exhibits for children of all ages. Learn about Saint Paul’s colorful past through narrated history tours and enjoy the splendor of the Mississippi River with a riverboat ride aboard one of the Padelford Packet Boats.
Saint Paul features a thriving theater and entertainment district, offering Broadway musicals as or concerts at the Ordway Center for the Performing Arts, fantastic new restaurants, wine bars and jazz clubs, Las Vegas style gambling at nearby casinos, and the world's largest selection of shopping and entertainment at Mall of America.
The city is also a hotbed of history and culture. The Minnesota Museum of American Art house offers an extensive collection of works from regional artists as well as great American works. Visitors young and old will enjoy the interactive exhibits at the Minnesota History Center, as well as the city's other historic sites including the State Capitol, Historic Fort Snelling and historic homes such as the Alexander Ramsey House and James J. Hill House.
Stately Summit Avenue showcases the country's largest stretch of Victorian homes, reaching from the Cathedral of Saint Paul near downtown to the Mississippi River Boulevard five miles west. The city's wealth of architectural masterpieces ranging from
the Cass Gilbert designed State Capitol to the castle-like Landmark Center to the impressive James J Hill mansion make walking tours a must in this historic rivertown. One block west of Summit Avenue lays Grand Avenue, an eclectic collection of one-of-a-kind boutique and specialty shops and ethnic restaurants set in a cozy turn-of-the-century neighborhood.

The Minneapolis Institute of Art's collection includes more than 100,000 objects spanning more than 5,000 years. Next to each other are the contemporary Walker Art Center and Minneapolis Sculpture Garden, the largest urban sculpture garden in the country. With a spectacular exterior made of angled sheets of brushed steel, the Frederick R. Weisman Art Museum is an attraction inside and out.
Getting to and around Minneapolis is easy. The Minneapolis/St. Paul International Airport is just minutes from downtown and where Northwest Airlines, the world's fifth largest airline is based. The Light Rail Transit connects downtown Minneapolis, historic Fort Snelling, both airport terminals and Mall of America, making transportation easy and inexpensive.
