Description of this New Orleans Attraction: The New Orleans Pharmacy Museum is housed in the 1823 Creole townhouse of Louis J. Dufilho, Jr., America's first licensed pharmacist. Visitors can explore two floors of exhibits on 19th century pharmacy, medicine and healthcare. Exhibits include bloodletting and Civil War surgical instruments, apothecary jars, patent medicines, voodoo potions, an 1855 soda fountain and more! The Museum also features a 19th century courtyard complete with herb garden. Current exhibits include, "Epidemics in 19th Century New Orleans" and "The History of the American Cocktail", on loan through September 2005.
