In addition, we feature fine steaks, live Maine lobster and exotics such as alligator and emu. The glassed-in view looks out upon the timeless Louisiana outdoors, the service is professional, yet friendly, and the atmosphere is casual, yet "fine-dining".
From a snowball stand in 1932 to "Poor Boy" sandwiches, to one of the South's finest seafood restaurants today, Poor Boy's Riverside Inn is a benchmark of fine Cajun cuisine. The same committment to consistent quality in food and service continues through the restaurant's third generation ownership of Richard Hurst and Elaine Hurst Alderman. We hope to have the opportunity of serving you and hope that in our food and service you find a bit of the love and intense pride that has gone into the creation of Poor Boy's Riverside Inn.

Description of this Lafayette Restaurant: Repeatedly voted Acadiana's favorite Cajun restaurant! Live Cajun music, inclusive group menus, Cajun cooking school, Cajun gift shop, plenty of coach parking, pet kennels available, open for breakfast, lunch and dinner 7 days/week, and we also offer offsite catering. Prejean's has a fun and casual atmosphere. We have a turtle tank at the front door and Big Al, a 14-foot (stuffed) gator, guards just a few of our culinary medals in the main dining area. We also have two private rooms available by reservation only. We've been all over: James Beard House in New York, Mardi Gras Balls in Washington D.C., Southern Living Magazine, and the Washington Post to name a few. We're located on I-49 North, just 2 miles north of I-10.
