Founded in 1854, Saint Meinrad is one of only two archabbeys in the United States; one of nine in the world. The monks operate a graduate-level School of Theology, which offers programs in priesthood formation and in lay leadership for the Roman Catholic Church, as well as an extensive Continuing Education program. Self-guided and audio cassette guided tours are available year-round. Tours for groups by reservation only. Abbey Press, an international marketer of religious and inspirational books, cards and gifts, operates a gift shop that is open daily. Located on Highways 62 and 545 in St. Meinrad.
