| Description | The Waterbury Symphony Orchestra invites you to experience Beethoven's Ninth Symphony Live! Four guest soloists along with the Naugatuck Valley Community College Choir will offer you an exceptional performance. Solists include: Amanda Hall, soprano, Gala El Hadidi, mezzo-soprano, Michael Paul Krubitzer, tenor and Tyler Simpson, baritone.
Leif Bjaland, Music Director and Conductor commented, "“From the opening distant murmur, with its sense of expectancy and hidden power, to the exaltation of the final Ode to Joy which is its culmination, Beethoven's Ninth Symphony is unrivaled in its sheer emotional scope and impact on the history of music. To experience it is to “no longer listen to music but stand face to face with the living world." November 22, 2009 at 3pm at the Naugatuck Valley Community College Fine Arts Center. |
