Over 100 Artists will be presenting their work for sale at the Palm Springs Desert Art Festival during Thanksgiving weekend, Nov. 28th-30th from 10-4 at the Francis Stevens Park located at 538 N Palm Canyon Drive, Palm Springs 92262. The show will benefit the Desert Art Center. This is a highly competitive juried show organized by West Coast Artists. The artists were selected for their originality, talent and professionalism.
A few of the artists that will be present are woodworking artist Terry Hansen from San Diego whose work has been collected by the Smithsonian Institute of Art as well as by other museums and famous collectors. He offers small original inlaid gift boxes as well as massive chests and tables. Candice Johnson from Los Angeles is a contemporary listed artist who lived in Paris for 11 years and is known for her expressionistic painting of Tetes or imaginary portraits. Her work has been exhibited all over France and continues to be sold at the auction house, Drouot Richelieu in Paris. She has a current exhibition at a Moscow Gallery and in Febuary at Art Raw Gallery in NYC. A local artist from Palm Desert Gunn Trigere, originally from Sweden, designs and makes stunning and exquisite jewelry with sterling silver and glass cabochons that she creates in her kiln. Her one of a kind wearable art has sleek modern lines with vivid and sophisticated colors. Gunn Trigere is also well known as a clothing designer and for her store that was located on Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills.
