Description	Kick off the Mardi Gras season with fiddling marvels Les Yeux Noirs, on a double-bill with Creole music sensation Cedric Watson. Violin-wielding brothers front the Gypsy-Yiddish sextet Les Yeux Noirs as they explore the musical styles of a culture forged in oppression and exile from its homeland. French for “The Black Eyes,” Les Yeux Noirs take their name from a Russian Gypsy tune made famous by Django Reinhart in the 1930s. Watson meanwhile has emerged as one of the brightest talents in Cajun and Creole music of the past few years. With a seemingly endless repertoire of songs at his fingertips, Watson plays everything from long-forgotten Creole melodies and obscure reels to modern Zydeco songs influenced by R& B, hip-hop, and reggae. Watson and Bijoux Créole—his exciting new Zydeco band from Louisiana’s Acadiana—share the stage with Les Yeux Noirs in an unexpected but wholly satisfying combination. Where else but at the Rialto?
