DescriptionFramed by the backdrop of famous launch facilities, the second annual Space & Air Show, will feature the world famous U.S. Navy Blue Angels. The 2008 show will include aircraft displays and space-related exhibits on the ground and plenty of action in the skies over Kennedy Space Center.

**The air show incorporated fewer aircraft than expected for such a big name. Spectators were lined up on a long causeway between NASA and the Air Force but the actual "center" of the show was down on one end. Many got a poor view of the propeller driven airplanes. Even the jets played to only one end. The Air Force F-16 and the Blue Angels were the only highlights and the Blue Angels were nothing less than spectacular. They DID play to all the spectators, making them the two high points of an otherwise unimpressive day out. The Castrol demo plane was really a protracted Castrol Motor Oil commercial, actually, annoyingly so. I don't care about Castrol's ability to protect his special airplane engine, I just want to see him perform. The local news is reporting that paying customers had trouble getting in and that Saturday tickets are good for Sunday or a refund. If it wasn't for the Blue Anghels, this show would be a "Don't Bother." Go to the Warbird Airshow at Space Coast Executive Airport every March for a show that is MUCH better.
