Hell's Gate Airtram
Located in the Scenic Fraser Canyon

Category:     Hope Historic Site in British Columbia

Description of this British Columbia Attraction: Ride in comfort over wild white water to this beautiful landscaped historic site. Trams take passengers down a 500 foot descent over the Canadian National Railway, Hell's Gate (the narrowest and deepest part of the Fraser River), and the International Fishways. At the lower terminal the Fisheries Exhibit educates visitors on the lifecycle of the spawning salmon and how they use the Fishways to navigate the rough waters here to make it to their spawning grounds. Also available are: Simon's Cafe, Gold Panner Gift Shop, Ice Cream Parlour, Fudge Factory and Skuzzy Trading Post. There is also an observation deck, suspension bridge and gold panning. 2008 celebrates the 200th Anniversary of early explorer Simon Fraser's journey. Hell's Gate Airtram is a locally owned & operated attraction open mid April through mid October.
