Reviews for Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom

| * | My fiance, my mother and step father, and myself just went to Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom on 06/21/08 for the first time and will NEVER return. This park needs to be boarded up and condemned. For those who do not know, a young girl got her feet cut off above the ankles due to a cord snapping on one of their rides called "The Superman Tower of Power". Which, could happen at any amusement park, but it's just a heads up. They have since took the ride down and installed a water fountain. If you don't believe me, then google it. First off, DO NOT let the Flash Pass fool you as it did us. Online it states you get to rides all your favorite rides all day, by jumping straight to the front of the line with this "Flash Pass". The flash pass only works on FIVE rides for the entire day, and the ride attendants were shouting over the intercom, "We have some special people who purchased flash passes, so the rest of you must wait while they pick their seats". Who wants to be treated like that, plus you can't pick the front or the back of the ride, only the middle. Anyways, the price gouging starts once you hit the entrance. It's $5 to park, $40 for a ticket to enter the so called amusement park, drinks are $13 BUT (notice my sarcasm) you get free refills all day. You have to pay to ride most of the rides once you have already paid to get a lousy ticket, rides which include go-karts,sky jumping, and several other rides. There are only like 3 restrooms in the entire park, which are filthy and un-kept and not to mention there are only about 8 stalls inside, so the lines for the restrooms are out into the park. You have to pay from $12-16 bucks for a locker to keep your stuff in, and lockers that are $12 are small and were sold out as soon as we got to them, and we got to the park at open. You have to pay to rent a tube, which will cost you another $8, food prices are ridiculous and I would definitely take a cooler and some lunch meat, because you will have to use your whole tax check to be able to afford a meal at the park! They do not have many thrill rides for adults. They have around 5 coasters, and when I went, two of them were shut down. The ride attendants are ALL very rude and unhelpful. I found maybe 3 nice people who worked in that park out of the whole day. The park is very unclean, it has gum all over the stairs, walk-ways, and anywhere else you can think of. The park is poorly staffed, you may wait in line for your food for an hour, while two people fix 15 peoples lunches. All around, this park is just filthy and not fun. My parents whom are 43 and 46 didn't even have fun. So it's just that bad. OH AND LET'S NOT FORGET, Kentucky Kingdom does NOT page for people whom you have lost, they ask you to wait at the entrance of either the front gates, or the front of the water park, and wait for the member of your party to walk by... Wow how nice and considerate, especially after you gave the park a month of your pay checks. I am getting disgusted just thinking about it. The park is way overrated, and is not worth the price. Do not let the great reviews fool you. They are probably from locals who haven't been to any other theme park. I drove from 4 hours away, and would have rather spent my day doing ANYTHING else than being at Kentucky Kingdom Six Flags. Please consider maybe Holiday World or something else other than Kentucky Kingdom. At least at Holiday world, tickets are cheap, parking is FREE, you get FREE drinks all day long, they offer free sunscreen, and staff is abundant and very nice, and the park is just a great park with a lot of nice rides. I spent my whole day at Kentucky Kingdom wishing that I was at Holiday World or Kings Island. | Female between 26 and 55 | 06-23-08 |
| * | ive been to kentucky kingdom numerous times. personally i didnt like it. it was a waste of money and time! if i drove a few more hours i could have gone to holiday world or even better six flags over saint louis. i love theme parks (especially the rollar coasters) and that is something ky kingdom doesnt have much of. the have maybe a total of 5 adult ones. if you want to go to a clean, friendly, worth the money and drive theme park i would definatly consider six flags over saint louis or cedar point, OH!!!!!! | Female under 25 | 09-01-08 |
| ***** | Kentucky Kingdom isn't a huge park but for it's size it is excellent the lines aren't long like other parks you could get on a ride in under five minutes. They have rides for everyone a childrens park where my grandchildren could play in the acme funfactory all day. They offer aton of rollercoasters for the park a total of eight, alot more coasters than holiday world. they also have a free water park which has awesome water rides the new mega wedgie was great, and the deluge was even better we had to ride it twice. They have other rides and attractions in the park but I went two days and loved it the employees was great it was clean and I didn't see why people ever put it down that is why I am an official season pass holder | Female between 26 and 55 | 05-23-09 |
