DescriptionThe John & Annie Glenn Historic Site is dedicated to telling the story of 20th Century American history through the lives of John & Annie Glenn and to creating educational programs for learners of all ages. The tour begins with a 20-minute orientation movie (narrated by Hugh Downs). What makes the attraction unique is the living history presentation done on the main floor of the Historic Site which is John Glenn's boyhood home. The year is 1944 and we are in the middle of WWII. Experience life on the homefront during that time and the sacrifices made at home to help with the war effort. Also, learn about their devotion to one another, their family, church, community and their country. See John's bedroom with handmade planes hanging from the ceiling and a toy room with his train set and tricycle just like they were when he was a boy and displays from his military and political careers as well as the space program, including a replica of the Friendship VII space capsule in which he orbited the earth in 1962. Visitors also have the opportunity to have a virtual conversation with John Glenn. This site is very family oriented
