*****The Gallia County Historical and Genealogical Society has the best collection of research material for the genealogical researcher. They are equiped to handle all of the needs of a researcher from the 72 volumes of Probate Court House records, the extensive collection of Gallipolis Daily Tribune, the shelves of family histories sent to the center from many genealogist. There are also many volumes of historical data that has been assembled from varied sources. The society also maintains a museum of articles that have been donated for the preservation of Gallia County history. The gift shop is probably the only place in town that will give you the classic soveniors of the area.. with the Bandstand Collection of unique porcelin china cups, candy dishes... one of a kind gifts. All this wrapped up in a spacious well lighted center for researcher and the historically curious.Other02-24-09
