Description	The Ross Historical Center is owned and operated by the Shelby County Historical Society. The Center was built in 1902 by William Haslup, a local industrialist who owned the Sidney Steel Scraper Company, which did a prosperous business in the manufacture of steel scrapers, wheelbarrows, road graders and general road machinery. This 17-room, two-story frame home is located one block from historic downtown Sidney. The home features a monumental portico and four fluted Ionic columns on the exterior and an interior characterized by exquisite woodwork. The Ross Center’s purpose is to preserve historical resources and promote historical awareness of Shelby County. The Center is known for its revolving exhibits, computer research room, and library. The staff at the Center also conduct wonderful and enlightening tours of historic downtown Sidney.
