One of Fresno's most ambitious dreams has come true, again.
The completion of a three-year renovation of the Fresno Metropolitan Museum, housed in the historic 1922 Fresno Bee Building, is the culmination of a nearly 30-year vision, shared by curious children and prominent members of the Fresno community alike. Some weren't yet born when the Museum opened in 1984 and some didn't live long enough to see the dream come true, but believed in it nonetheless. Millions donated by dedicated, wealthy philanthropists were combined with pennies collected by children from the poorer rural outskirts of town, both wishing upon a star to fund a magnificent restoration of a magnificent Museum.
