DescriptionA visit to the Emlen Physick Estate today offers a look back at our Victorian past as evidenced by its architecture, decorative arts, customs, and the lives of one particular Cape May family, the Physicks.The Physicks' distinctive home illustrates their changing tastes as well as the particulars of the Victorian lifestyle in Cape May. The Estate's new theme in 2008 is “Upstairs Downstairs: Servants and the Served.” Guided tours as well as children tours are offered daily. Other events are offered on the estate's grounds through the summer months and holiday seasons. The Mid-Atlantic Center of the Arts maintains and preserves the Estate. The Mid-Atlantic Center for the Arts (MAC) is a non-profit organization dedicated to the preservation and interpretation of Cape May’s heritage.
