DescriptionThe gallery first opened in 1975 with a series of ‘Silo Scenes’. Ruth Henderson’s vision shaped the gallery into a champion of talented regional artists and craftspeople, and it soon had a following in New England and beyond. Housed in a converted hay barn c.1800, now listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the gallery is a unique venue. With 27-foot ceilings, exposed timbers and a famous view into the barnyard, the space is a delight in itself.

A piece of New Milford history itself, the Silo Gallery is located in the oldest structure on the property and yet through its employ as a gallery retains all of its original vitality. We truly believe in maintaining the heritage of the first ‘Silo Scenes’ as well as expanding our horizons to include new opportunities afforded to us through our Smithsonian Affiliate status.

We invite you to visit the gallery during any and every season. To the left is this year's schedule; please, follow the links for a full description of each show.
