Vacation Timeshares
There are many timeshares in the United States and Canada. If you don't know too much about timeshares there are a few distinctions between them and conventional lodging. When you purchase or rent a timeshare what you are really getting is a guaranteed week (minimum) of vacation time at a specific resort.

Finding a timeshare is easy. Online timeshare listings are often extensive. You can literally pick the place you want to visit first, and then look for accommodations in that area. Even if you only have an area or region in mind, there are websites that allow you to search by those criteria. There are also easy to find websites that post advertisements for timeshare resales, which will be explained further down in the article.

Timeshare resorts are located all over the planet so you have a wide selection of destinations. Domestically, there is a high concentration along the coasts of America and continuing into Canada. Cities like Montreal, Toronto and Vancouver are great spots to own vacation property. Ski resorts like Mont Tremblant and Whistler have luxurious accommodations.

The locales most adorned with superlative timeshares are the most poplar vacation hot spots. Places such as Orlando, Hilton Head, Cape Cod, Banff, Victoria, Lake Tahoe, Palm Springs, Scottsdale and Branson are always common destinations.

Even within these great locations, timeshare resorts are often situated very close to the things you want to see. Timeshares are frequently on beaches, in metropolitan areas, next to stadiums or theatres and at the base of mountains. If you are looking for campsites or RV timeshares, those are available too. Great for activities like hiking, fishing and mountain biking, these sites are usually in pristine forests and next to crisp lakes.

Renting a timeshare is a great alternative to a one-time vacation-lodging problem. With a rental you are not locked into any contractual obligations and you still benefit from the advantages of timeshare ownership.

Cost-efficiency is, arguably, what attracts most people to timeshares. A week at an upscale resort can cost a pretty-penny. Timesharing rates, however, are usually well below standard resort costs. To lower that cost even more there are timeshare resales available.

A timeshare resale is just a previously owned timeshare being sold by the owner. The resale market is just as plentiful as the resort market, so basically all the same destinations are being offered. On average buying a resale will save you 60%. When purchasing or renting from an owner you avoid the bias of sales pitches. Buying or renting from a resort can sometimes generate problematic situations because of details such as property depreciation, rank restrictions and peak seasons that a resort salesman will leave out. With a private transaction all the details are on the table. Assistance by a timeshare broker is also available through some resale-advertising companies, so that when you find a timeshare you like the confusing elements can be cleared up.

Just remember that when you are planning a vacation you have options when it comes to lodging. A timeshare is hassle-free and low cost. It guarantees annual holiday time at any destination you want. With the choice to exchange your property you have an open door to the entire world.

Before you make any decisions when it comes to timeshares please do your research on the company you decide to go with.
