Pet Travel - Things to do during the trip

  • Keep an eye on your per and assess their health and general behavior on a daily basis. Watch for loss of appetite or energy, etc.
  • Keep fresh water in a travel bowl with you at all times.
  • Remember to feed your pet on their regular schedule. Convenient plastic food Dispensers take the mess out of filling dishes. You can use stainless steel bowls. They are heavier so they're less likely to tip over. If you will be on the go, consider buying a portable bowl.
  • Provide your pet with plenty of exercise.
  • Make sure that your pet is wearing a secure collar with tags that properly identifies your pet. Temporary tags can be used to indicate contact information along with where you are staying during your trip.
  • Ensure your pet has time to take a "bathroom" break. Bring disposable bags and a scooper to use if necessary.
  • Give your pet extra attention and affection! Brushing your pet is a good way to spend some quaility time with your pet. The brushes with lift away face plate for easier cleaning are available for dogs. For cats, try a dual sided cat brush. One side untangles mats and snarls, the other brings out a healthy shine.
