*This place is disgusting!!!! My husband an I live in this area. Our electricity went out so we checked into this hotel just until it came back on. We bought a jaccuzzi suite. When we got there it looked ok just from initial view. When started to get settled was when everything started to unfold. We turned doen the bed -which by the way had 3 flat pillows- to see the dirt stains on the pillows. When we asked for new pillows, the clerk said they were all sold out. So we said ok well it's just 1 night we can make the best of it, and went back to our room. When we turned the bed down more we noticed the spread had revealed a few stains of its own. So we wanted to get a new room (which the clerk said they were sold out). We wanted to leave, the clerk said we could leave but we can't get a re-fund because we ate in the room. Then he accused us of trying to run a scam???? We just wanted our money back. We asked for the manager who was not available and we asked for a return policy which they don't have. So instead of arguing anymore we went back to the room where we couldn't sleep comfortably because of the filth. We got in the jacuzzi tub which is heart shaped and guest what.... only 2 jets worked. I just knew that when we talked to the manager that he was going to compensate us, nope. He said there is nothing he could do. I asked for the district office number, he couldn't give me one. I asked for the owner's number, he couldn't give me that. He said he doesn't know what to do and that he will call me back, he did not however ask me for my number or let me know when he will get back to me. So finally I logged onto Choice Hotels International to leave a comment about what happened. I got no reponse so far however. In conclusion all I have to say is, if you want to stay at a hotel/motel, DO NOT stay at the Econo Lodge in Takoma Park. Oh buy the way the manager I spoke to is the same manager for the Quality Inn which is next door to Econo Lodge in Takoma Park.Young couple04-16-08
