| ***** | My husband and I just stayed at this Inn for three nights and it was not enough! Many places are nice, most are staffed with friendly people, but this place is out of this world. You drive in along a long winding driveway through palm trees and by a macadamia nut orchard. You know you are along the cliff but you can’t see the ocean. You park your car and go in. As soon as you walk in the front doors you feel it. This place is operating on a whole different level of hospitality. You are warmly greeted and after a quick check-in you are taken on a short walk to your room, via a tour of the house and view. And boy, what a view. It has been hidden right up until you go out on to the main lanai – they call it the grand lanai, and it is. It is a 180 degree view of jaw dropping gorgeous ocean and bay view. No other buildings, homes, hotels, nothing but nature. Wow is an understatement.
Our stay only got better, the room was gorgeous, the garden hot tub romantic and wonderfully hot during a night time visit, complete with cooling rain shower. We giggled as the raindrops fell on our faces and reveled in our luck at finding this gem. The food at breakfast was very good, I ate way more than I usually do, but it was hard to pass it up. The staff was small so it did not take long to learn who everyone was and they were all very nice and willing to offer advice on what to do and see.
Their website says: come as a guest, leave as a friend – I first thought that was a bit of a “kitchy” tag line, but not any more. We did leave as friends. We met other wonderful guests, and on the day we went down to see the farmer’s market I was surprised to turn around and see one of the Inn’s owner’s smiling at me and offering me a piece of strange looking fruit called a rambutan (sp?) and asking if I was enjoying the market and if I had discovered anything new. I pointed at the fruit she had just handed me and be both laughed. Now I know not everyone will have the same experiences we had, but this place will always hold perfect memories for me, and I hope one day to be lucky enough to go back. Absolutely on my highly recommended list.
