Description | A celebration focusing on animal power, traditional skills and crafts, life before the industrial era, and how this knowledge is still valuable and relevant today. Heritage crafts and old-tyme farming skills are highlighted in this 2-day
family event that showcases a simpler life. Draft animals will be demonstrating "no gas needed" farming skills as well as providing power for corn-grinding, sorghum pressing, log loading, log sawing, and more (weather permitting). Syrup cooking, spinning, weaving, soapmaking, dry stone masonry, natural dyeing, leatherwork, basketmaking, children's primitive games and toys, log hewing, and much more! (listing subject to change). Drover Carl Heth will be fielding questions about oxen care and training. Real chuckwagon cooking and wild game on the menu plus other treats! More may be added as we get closer to the event weekend! Want to participate? Contact us for the details.
