Description | The amazing $104 million Ralph Engelstad Arena (REA), home of the Division I National Champion UND Fighting Sioux Men's Hockey team and an up-and-coming women's hockey program, was definitely built with the fans in mind. The Ralph offers just about everything you could ever wantfrom an Italian marble-floored lobby to the cherry wood, leather padded seats where you'll have an unparalleled view of the game. It also features a Fighting Sioux Hockey Museum, 8-sided Daktronics Pro-Star Video Display Scoreboard above center ice, 48 luxury suites, 14 locker rooms and even 300 televisions sets located throughout the facility. REA's main rink has a 200'x85' surface and can accommodate 11,700 hockey fans. The adjacent practice rink is an Olympic-size measuring 200'x100' with seating for 400 to 500. The world-class 10,000 square foot Fighting Sioux weight room is one of the largest single-sport weight facilities in the world. It has 10 platforms with 10 power stations, 24 weight machines, 30 circuit machines and 30 aerobic pieces, along with 20,000 pounds of weights. Also included in the room is a 1,800 square foot spring-mounted pylo floor and eight TV monitors to take athletes step-by-step through their workout programs. |
